10 Common Mistakes Made On First Dates [Must Read]

When a date goes awry, it’s easy to get caught up in disappointment and question what could have made it successful. Sometimes it’s just not in the stars for you and your date, but other times you may be unintentionally sabotaging any future chances. Here are the top 10 mistakes that could keep you from getting a second date: 1)Interrogating the other person. It’s a date, not an interview. While it’s important to ask questions and appear interested, it’s also important not to go overboard. Make sure to talk about yourself after you have asked a few questions in a row. 2)Over-emphasizing serious topics. It’s good to get a little deeper and discuss relationship issues, just make sure to keep it light and have some fun — especially in the beginning. 3)Picking a loud or uncomfortable date spot.Be careful where you pick to meet up. It’s okay to hit up a fun, hip bar or restaurant, but consider meeting for a drink somewhere quiet at first. When you meet for the first time, it is so important to be able to simply hear each other to avoid miscommunication. There’s nothing worse than playing the “What?” game on a first date. 4)Being rude. Always try to be polite– offer to hold doors and pull out chairs. Be respectful to the waiting staff. You never get a second chance at a first impression. 5)Don’t look at the TV during your date.Yes, this actually happens, plenty of bars and restaurants have giant, juicy flatscreens on, but don’t let your eyes wander — it shows disinterest even if you really are interested! 6)Being silent.Having topics or questions prepared can ease any awkward tension or fill any conversational lulls, keeping you from being a boring date. 7) Sharing your opinions as facts — and not opinions. If your date asks about your favorite type of music, instead of responding with “Rock is the best, everything else is bad,” respond with “Personally I enjoy rock but would love to hear your thoughts.” Be engaging! 8)Negative body language. Make eye contact, and don’t check out people of the opposite s*x (this is a no-brainer). You’re here to get to know your date, and eyeing other people will make him or her question your interest. 9)Getting drunk! It’s cool to go out for a drink, not twelve. Your focus should be on getting to know your date, and that’s hard to do when you’ve had too much to drink. 10) Inviting friends. Don’t invite friends, or suggest a meeting with your friends for the first encounter. It’s all about judging chemistry and connection, and your date shouldn’t have to compete for your attention during your first meeting.

Woman Shoots Her Boyfriend For Not Ejaculating Enough During s*x

A Michigan woman convicted earlier this year of shooting her lover in the stomach has been granted bond, set at $10,000. The prosecutor called the facts of the case “a little bizarre,” which is a polite understatement: 58-year-old Sadie Bell said she shot the man when she suspected him of cheating because he didn’t produce enough e*******e when they had s*x that night. “She also said to the police some very graphic things about how she expected him to perform, she was a cheap date, she liked s*x, she expected him to be able to do what he’s promised; and she said, in essence, to quote her, she was pissed off, so she shot him,” Oakland County prosecutor Paul Walton told Detroit’s WWJ. The victim and alleged weak producer of semen, Edward Lee, suffered damage to his colon and pancreas. Prosecutors say he nearly died. Lee was technically cheating, but not on Bell. The two of them had been carrying on a 15-year affair. Bell was accused in 1991 of shooting her then-husband, but he refused to testify against her, and she was never convicted. As of Thursday, she had yet to post the $10,000 cash bond. Prosecutors are in the process of challenging it, saying it never should have been granted.

Nigeria has not eliminated Ebola — FG

By Ben Agande Abuja —The Federal Government declared, yesterday, that in spite of the huge success it recorded in curtailing the Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, in the country, it has not yet completely eliminated the virus. Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu, disclosed this yesterday when he spoke with state House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting where he briefed the president and members of the Council on the containment of EVD. The minister spoke on a day President Goodluck Jonathan condemned the stigmatisation of Nigerians by some countries over recent cases of the Ebola Virus in the country. According to the minister: “I don’t want Nigerians to panic, but I don’t want us to be carried away with euphoria because if we still one case of Ebola Virus Disease, it is an emergency. “The World Health Organization, WHO, defines Ebola epidemic as when one person is infected with the disease. We have to be cautious as long as there is still a victim in the country,” he said. According to the Minister: “While Nigeria has successfully contained Ebola Virus Disease, it has not eliminated the disease because there is still a case we are managing and as long as there is one case in the world, every country is still at risk. “It is still possible that Nigeria may record between one to three new cases because there are people under surveillance. There is a case we are still managing and even that case we are still managing must also have had her own third degree contacts, many of whom are part of this number of people that are under surveillance. “There is still a chance one of the people under surveillance may fall sick and test positive. So until we give a clean bill of health to every contact, we cannot even say we have eliminated the disease,” he emphasised. On government’s decision to close primary and secondary schools in the country till October, Professor Chukwu said it was a precautionary measure to safeguard the lives of children. He also emphasised that there is no need for the country’s borders to be closed just yet, adding that government may consider closing the borders only if it is absolutely necessary to do so. “There is no panic to close borders, but if it becomes necessary, we may close borders. Our borders are still open, but what we are doing is screening of people coming into the country,” he said. On the N1.9 billion released by the Federal Government to fight Ebola Virus Disease, Professor Chukwu said the money was for the Federal Ministry of Health and its agencies to contain the spread of Ebola and not to be shared to states of the federation. Discrimination Also, President Jonathan, who was not happy with the way Nigerians were being discriminated against in foreign countries on account of the virus in Nigeria, condemned such discrimination when he had a meeting with Mr. David Navarro, a Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General. He particularly denounced discriminatory actions such as that which forced Nigeria’s team to the Youth Olympics in China to abandon its participation. Noting that there was no justification for such stigmatisation of Nigerians since the Ebola Virus Disease had been effectively contained in the country and never attained scandalous levels, the President called for the cessation of discriminatory actions against Nigerians over the virus and urged the UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki Moon to support the call. Responding to the Secretary General’s commendation of Nigeria’s management of the threat of Ebola, President Jonathan praised the Federal Ministry of Health, the Lagos State Government and all Nigerians for the success achieved so far in containing the virus and avoiding a national epidemic.

Scientist Invents ‘Robot’ That Kills Ebola Virus

In a bid to combat the recent surge of the Ebola Virus Disease, two germ-killing robots have been taken from the US to hospitals in Moronvia and Liberia. Fox News reports that it was deemed necessary so as to combat the deadly disease through the use of innovative disinfection technology. The hospitals involved are: the JFK Hospital and ELWA Hospital both in Monrovia, Republic of Liberia, both hotspots of the Ebola disease outbreak. TRU-D SmartUVC ultraviolet disinfection device on display The robots are put in place to disinfect the places where Ebola patients are being treated. According to the developer, the robot works by generating ultraviolet light energy that modifies the DNA structure of viral pathogens, like Ebola, so that they cannot reproduce. Viruses that cannot reproduce cannot colonise and harm patients,” the inventor, a tropical disease expert and medical anthropologist Dr. Jeffery L. Deal noted in an interview. Shows UV device in action (in the process of disinfection) Deal made it known that the robot, TRU-D SmartUVC technology was developed to combat the devastating effects of hospital acquired infections. He further said:“Unlike many diseases, Ebola strikes hospital workers more than any other group, making it the ultimate hospital acquired infection.” Related: Ebola Experimental Drup, Zmapp Fails, Liberian Doctor Dies Explaining that aside from Ebola, the TRU-D SmartUVC technology, also helps in subduing transfer of other deadly diseases like Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, MERS, influenza, norovirus, Clostridium difficile, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA, etc., in all types of health care settings, including isolation wards, patient rooms, operating rooms, surgical suites, intensive care units, emergency rooms, public areas and ambulances. “We know through extensive CDC-funded research specific to TRU-D conducted by thought leaders in epidemiology and infection prevention that TRU-D is effective at eliminating anypathogen by delivering a precisely measured UVC dose. “As soon as we knew we could aid struggling hospitals in Liberia, our team came together and formulated a plan to get TRU-D on the ground. More than 200 TRU-Ds have been deployed to disinfect hospitals across the U.S. and internationally’’, Deal reiterated. The device, which has been tested in the US was developed by a team of engineers, physicians and industrial hygienists with the sole aim of sterilizing health centres, rooms where patients are being taken care of, contaminated surface and many more. And surprisingly, the U.S. Army tested the particular wavelength against Ebola and found that the measured dose TRU-D delivers results in incredibly rapid destruction of the virus with its pathogen-specific dosing options.

Why Many Pastors Will Go To Hell – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Founder and head pastor of Believers Love World, popularly known as Christ Embassy, Chris Oyakhilome left members of his church shocked with his revelation while preaching the message on Sunday. According to City People, while delivering the message titled ‘The lessons of Lot’, Pastor Chris explained to his members why most pastors will not make heaven. “Many pastors will go to hell for not obeying God, some are not called by God, some just called themselves for their personal reasons, some are in the ministry to serve their senses”, he stated. The popular pastor said some churches started out of strife and that some pastors left their churches where they were to go and started another ministry because of anger, strife, misunderstanding or envy. He said, “Sometimes, it is between a pastor’s wife and an assistant pastor’s wife; you need to learn to obey God in all, I don’t want any of you in such situation. Make up your mind to obey God in everything”.

EBOLA Is Manufactured By Satan – T.B. Joshua

Nigeria’s controversial preacher, T.B. Joshua of The Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), has declared that the killer disease Ebola currently ravaging West Africa is from ‘the pit of hell’. According to Mr. Joshua, who, on Sunday, led his congregation in prayer for the nations and individuals affected by the disease, time was up for the ‘strange ailment’ and life would soon return to normal for the affected countries. “The so called strange ailment coming from three nations – Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia… satan is the manufacturer, the source,” Joshua defiantly declared to the faithful. “Begin to capture the covenant of that strange sickness,” the cleric then enjoined the congregation. “Command that strange ailment to come out and go to the pit of hell, in the name of Jesus Christ!” “Because of Christ, people of Liberia, Sierra Leona, Guinea, you are released,” Mr. Joshua said, accompanied by the vibrant congregants in a service believed to have been viewed by millions worldwide through Joshua’s Christian television station Emmanuel TV. The controversial pastor boldly declared that God had spoken to him to pray for the nations affected by Ebola as its reign of fear was close to closure. The pastor, cited to be one of Africa’s most influential individuals, decried the toll Ebola had taken on society, especially in the areas of kinship and kindness. “People are no longer their brother’s keepers because of this strange disease,” he lamented, adding that if someone publicly collapsed from any form of sickness, people would likely abandon the invalid as opposed to lending a helping hand. “Once satan takes love out of people, he has taken life. Satan is not happy that we are one; he is against oneness. He knows when we are not one, we can be defeated,” he fumed. “The weapon satan is afraid of is love,” Mr. Joshua continued. “Satan can fight anything but he cannot fight love.” The cleric then cited a poignant question asked by Jesus in Luke 18:8: “When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” He added that the prayer Jesus offered for His followers’ faith not to fail indicated challenges would arise in the last days which would make many ‘abandon their faith’, Ebola being one of such challenges. Mr. Joshua made headlines this week in local and international media for sending 4,000 bottles of ‘Anointing Water’ to the Ebola-stricken nation of Sierra Leone on the request of the government, alongside $50,000 in humanitarian aid. Last week, Mr. Joshua debunked a rumour attributed to him that went viral in Nigeria claiming that bathing in salt water could prevent the disease. With over 1.2million followers on Facebook and 90,000 YouTube subscribers, the preacher has a huge social media following.

Chibok Girls:!! Parents Want Case Closed, Say Funeral Rites Already Performed

More than four months after unfruitful search for their abducted girls, parents of the kidnapped Chibok school girls said they want the matter closed. Since the girls have been missing for more than four months, the parents said they presumed the students to have died for which their funeral rites have already been performed in their (parents’) minds according to their custom. They, however, urged the federal government to bring the girls’ corpses for honourable burial. This position was disclosed yesterday by the #BringOurGirls advocacy group, during its daily sit-out meeting for the rescue of the missing school girls at Unity Fountain, Abuja. “All they said they want is their corpses to bury them honourably,” the group said. As a way of driving their demand home, the group said it is vigorously mobilizing people on and offline and via social media towards holding a mega protest march in the FCT. According to them, over 200 groups in Abuja have so far been contacted and have given positive response to participate, with 135 individuals on the group’s database contacted. While calling on federal government to double its effort to free the girls, the meeting said only political and military action can rescue our girls, and that is why we do what we are doing to compel that. The group added a new slogan #NotWithoutOurDaughters! in response to a question on when it will stop the campaign.

University Of Ibadan To Produce Ebola Vaccines

Professor Isaac Adewole, the Vice chancellor, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, has hinted that the institution has set up a Committee on Ebola Prevention and Preparedness, to try and produce Ebola vaccine. Nigerian Tribune reports that the Vice chancellor, while speaking at a town hall meeting in Ibadan, further revealed that the institution’s virology laboratory would be expanded and make sure it produce a vaccine that could be used to prevent Ebola. Professor Adewole said the university had concluded plans to spearhead Ebola vaccine production, and advised residents to dispel their fears as they would be adequately equipped with necessary information about the virus. He urged the federal government to investigate the allegation that the late Patrick Sawyer was paid to import the virus to Nigeria, and cautioned people against handshake. He also advised the public to avoid sick people as Ebola virus spreads quickly through body fluids of infected persons. Speaking also at the town hall meeting, Professor David Olaleye, a virologist and head, UI Ebola Viral Disease Prevention and Preparedness Committee, reiterated the need for good hygiene, and pleaded with that people to avoid contact with dead animals. Meanwhile, it is not yet known if the outcome of their research would be widely accepted as it would be recalled that on August 19, 2014, one Dr. Rima Laibow, Managing Director of US-based company Natural Solutions Foundation claimed that Nano Silver has been deployed by her team of scientistsduring treatment of Ebola patients in Africa before the current epidemic outbreak, but surprisingly on August 21, 2014, the same company confirmed that the said drug was not a cure for the deadly disease.

40 Soldiers Vow Not To Fight Boko Haram – Report

At least, 40 soldiers in North-Eastern are refusing to fight Islamist Boko Haram militants until they receive better equipment. The BBC reported on Tuesday that one of the mutineers said that he and 39 others would refuse orders to deploy. The alleged soldier spoke with the BBC just as the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah, warned officers and men of the Nigerian Army to desist from any form of mutiny in the face of the ongoing campaign against the Boko Haram sect. The BBC stated that a defence ministry spokesman said the incident was being investigated. The Federal Government had declared state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states because of the attacks by the Boko Haram sect. “Soldiers are dying like fowl,” the soldier, who said he and his colleagues were just outside Maiduguri, told the BBC. “The Nigerian army is not ready to fight Boko Haram,” he said, explaining that soldiers were not being given enough weapons and ammunition to take them on. “Boko Haram are inside the bush, everywhere,” he said “They [senior commanders] are sacrificing soldiers,” he said. The Defence headquarters spokesman, Gen Chris Olukolade, told the BBC’s Focus on Africa programme that he could not confirm the reports of a mutiny but would investigate. He denied that soldiers were being “sent to die”. “We may not have all it takes but we are improving on it [equipment] regularly,” he said. But the Defence Headquarters, in a statement on Tuesday denied the report that troops in the North -East had taken a decision to refuse to obey directives from superior officers. Olukolade, said in an electronic mail on Tuesday , said the level of cowardice described in the report was not in the character of the Nigerian soldier. He described the interview granted the BBC as lies by an anonymous soldier. Olukolade said it was part of the the antics of mischief-makers to promote the course of the Boko Haram sect. He stressed that the military had not sent any soldier to the frontline without providing the necessary equipment. Olukolade warned that mutiny remained a grave offence attracting severe punishment.
