Lagos State Government May Prosecute T.B Joshua

It looks like Synagogue leader T.B Joshua will be prosecuted by the Lagos State Government over the collapse of his building on September 12th that left more than 115 people dead. According to Punch, the state government has set up a coroner of inquest for the purpose of investigating the cause of the building collapse. This was made known in a statement credited to the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye, on Sunday. According to the statement, Ipaye had instigated the coroner’s inquest pursuant to Section 15 of the Lagos State Coroner’s System Law No. 7 of 2007. The coroner of inquest, headed by Magistrate O. A. Komolafe, has been charged with the duty of establishing the cause of the collapse of Synagogue’s six-storey building that killed no fewer than 115 persons. Ipaye, who spelt out the responsibility of the coroner, said its final submission might necessitate the institution of a criminal charge against the church. The commissioner was quoted to have said, “The law requires the verdict of a coroner, as certified in writing, to be forwarded to the State Attorney General and such verdict may form the basis of criminal prosecution depending on the evidence collected. “The coroner in this case is Magistrate O. A. Komolafe, who also sat as coroner in the Dana Air Crash case. He is expected to announce his sitting or visitation schedules and other details and to hold the inquest at the premises of the High Court of Lagos State, Oba Akinjobi Way, Ikeja. “In doing this, he (Komolafe) has all the powers of a magistrate to summon and compel the attendance of witnesses, including medical examiners, and require them to give evidence, produce documents or present other relevant materials.”

Prophet TB Joshua Denied Visa & Banned From South Africa & Zimbabwe!

According to reliable sources, South Africans are passionate about the Synagogue Church, always coming there on pilgrimage. There is a tour package which cost an average of 10,000 Rands each for one week. The collapsed building was meant for Southern African groups like worshipers from Namibia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Botswana and the Republic of South Africa. Worshipers from Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan also use the collapsed building but investigation revealed that South Africans were more because Pastor Joshua decided to give more opportunities for the South Africans who have remained insistent and shown solidarity to SCOAN. No fewer than 84 South Africans were killed in the tragedy. Healing of sicknesses and diseases also bring nationals from other countries to Synagogue – all for miracles. Holy water, otherwise called anointing water, is sold to pilgrims between N5000 and N10,000 per bottle. Even thousands of anointing water bottles are exported to some West African countries. Worshipers from foreign nations are encouraged to stay until after seven days. They are always screened and registered by the church authorities. Those with financial problems believe that use of the anointing oil restore their finances. Meanwhile, it was gathered that the ruling African National Congress, ANC, Youth Wing had warned Pastor T.B. Joshua not to come to South Africa. He should not enter the country until they know what happened to their compatriots in Nigeria. According to Bandile Masuku of ANC Youth League, “we will make sure that Pastor T.B. Joshua is not issued with a South African visa.” The influx of foreign nationals into the church could be explained by the adage that a Prophet is not acknowledged or recognised in his own country. But with this tragedy, many people are becoming scared of the Synagogue church and more knowledgeable about what goes on there. Strangely, however, several South Africans, we reliably learnt, are still anxious to return to Nigeria to patronize the church because of their believed spiritual prowess of Pastor T.B. Joshua. He is feared and highly respected by politicians, including prime ministers, presidents and ministers. Even sports men come to the Synagogue not only for healing when injured but also for for success in their outings. Prominent athletes and footballers have gone there to seek one form of help or another. May the souls of those who perished rest in perfect peace and may God give the living a discerning spirit. “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” – 1 John 4:1. How Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau was killed – Investigations

KINGSLEY OMONOBI-ABUJA. Details of how Abubakar Shekau, the impostor and leader of the Boko Haram terrorist group lost his left in a shootout with Nigerian troops in Konduga on Wednesday Sept. 17 emerged yesterday with military sources disclosing that he met his waterloo in an ambush reminiscent of the type the sect had been using to hack down Nigerian troops. Vanguard gathered that when the first attack on Konduga whereby hundreds of insurgents were taken unawares and killed after over seven hours of fighting and several of their colleagues, arms and ammunition captured, the military commanders strategically urged his captured members to send a message to Shekau that they (insurgents) have routed the troops. Before the captured insurgents were urged to make the contact and deliver the message, the military commanders had promised them that their cooperation would play a role in the level of punishment to be meted to them after the battle hence they felt reassured. Also, the captured insurgents had disclosed that Shekau usually moved in a convoy of cars painted in military colours while he sits in a MOWAG Armoured tank with Boko Haram inscription on its front. When Shekau was contacted, his captured men spoke to him in Arabic, assuring him that they had taken over Konduga, thereby giving him the all clear to proceed from Sambisa Forest. To convince him further, a set of his men captured were told to sing the victory song in Kanuri language they normally sing at the background. Having convinced himself that the messenger was his chief courier in such situation and the message is authentic, he and his followers made for Konduga, heavily armed with Anti-Aircraft weapons, General Purpose Machine Guns, several AK 47 rifles and other IEDS’. However, on entering Konduga town, he and his followers were encircled by strategically placed and heavily armed Nigerian soldiers. Immediately he contacted the messenger and discovered that something was amiss, he ordered his followers to start shooting in all direction.

Adokiye, who called herself ‘pretty virgin’ during the disclosure said only the man who could buy her mum the private jet she promised her would get to unlock the secrets of her womanhood. Adokiye Just some days ago, she told Potpourri she now has a boyfriend. But whether the boyfriend has consented to buying her mother the jet she promised her is something she didn’t say. But then, she doesn’t have to, because, according to her, the guy hasn’t gone beyond ground floor of exploring her womanhood

I will crush Boko Haram —Jonathan

*Why the North must back Mr President’s re-election – Anenih SIMON EBEGBULEM, BENIN CITY PRESIDENT Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, yesterday, at the South-south Unity Party of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held in Benin-City, vowed that his administration will crush Boko Haram exactly the way it fought Ebola virus disease. The President also boasted that the PDP will recapture Rivers and Edo states in 2015 and 2016, insisting that the entire South-south must return to the PDP as it were in 1999. This comes as South-south PDP leaders and governors, through the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, urged the North to back Jonathan’s re-election bid, asserting that the people of the zone were determined to ensure his re-election. According to Anenih, the North must reciprocate the gesture of the South-south in the political empowerment of the North in the past. Jonathan, who arrived the Benin Airport at about 1pm, was welcomed by Governor Adams Oshiomhole and members of the Edo State Executive Council. He proceeded with the governor to the commissioning of the reconstructed Benin-Ore-Lagos dual carriage road before storming the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium for the PDP rally. From left: President Goodluck Jonathan, APC Presidential aspirant and Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Chief Mike Onolemenmen, Minister of Works on arrival of the President at the Benin Airport for a party rally, Saturday Dignitaries at the rally include the Vice President, Arch.Namadi Sambo, Senate President, David Mark, National Chairman of the PDP, Adamu Muazu, Governors Liyel Imoke (Cross Rivers), Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Seriaki Dickson (Bayelsa), Theodore Orji (Abia) and the deputy governor of Akwa Ibom State. Others are former governors of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion and Prof.Osariemen Osunbor; a former governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Alameiseigha; Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion; Senator Roland Owie; Chief Dan Orbih (Edo PDP Chairman); Captain Hosa Okunbor; Ken Imasuagbon; Gen.Charles Airhiavbere; Senator Ehigie Uzamere; Chief Tom Ikimi; and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. Addressing the rally, Jonathan declared that his administration had made giant strides in infrastructural development despite criticisms from the opposition, just as he urged PDP members to ensure unity to be able to win the forthcoming general elections. His words, “Before coming to this stadium, we commissioned the Benin-Ore-Shagamu dual carriage road. The governor (Oshiomhole), though he is not a PDP member appreciates that work. And we promise Nigerians that we will improve on infrastructures. And if you observe carefully, those who travel, you will know that the PDP administration has improved the quality of our roads. “We cannot do all our roads the same day, but, within this short time we have been in power, we have reconstructed the roads, we have also fixed the airports. So when we talk about infrastructure, PDP is not only talking about feeding people. There was somebody who said PDP believes in stomach infrastructure. Yes because PDP must ensure food security. Every President in this world talks about food security and job creation. “ And we have been commended for reducing hunger, our detractors don’t even want Nigerians to know that we are working, but those who monitor what is happening in the world know that we are working. Recently, we were recognized for fighting Ebola disease. So I promise you that there must be food security and anybody who says that we should not talk about food security is not ready to lead the people. “You are all aware that we have conquered Ebola and we will surely crush Boko Haram. And if you look at what is happening, a lot of things are changing. Everything is turning around”. ‘ We will get all our states back’ Admonishing PDP members to be united ahead of the 2015 general elections, the President said: “Let me appreciate the leadership of the party for their commitment and members of our party from the non-PDP states because we know the things they pass through. We are here in Edo for a unity rally, we are not here for campaign, we are here for a unity rally because we must bring our party members together especially now that elections are coming.

Boko Haram fighters 'surrender' as alleged chief killed

More than 260 Islamist militants have surrendered in north-eastern Nigeria, the military has said. Soldiers had also killed a man who featured in Boko Haram's propaganda videos pretending to be the group's leader Abubakar Shekau, it added. Last year, the military said that Shekau may have been killed, without providing any proof. Boko Haram has suffered heavy losses in recent weeks in battles in its stronghold of north-eastern Nigeria. The military said that 135 Boko Haram members surrendered with their weapons in Biu, Borno state, on Tuesday - and that 133 others surrendered elsewhere in north-eastern Nigeria. 'Eccentric character' The BBC's Will Ross in Lagos says that the claims are impossible to verify. However, if they are true, it could be a major turning point for the army's campaign against Boko Haram militants, our correspondent adds.

TB Joshua Church Collapse: South Africans Make Moves To Sue

Two South Africans who lost their relatives in a church hostel in Lagos that collapsed have come out to tell BBC that they intend to sue the Nigerian Pastor — TB Joshua. The two men, who both lost sisters in the collapse, are appealing for more families to come together in bringing a case against the preacher. At least 115 people, including 84 South Africans, died when the multi-storey building fell down earlier this month. The authorities say it had more floors than its foundation could hold. On Sunday, TB Joshua, who is one of Nigeria’s best-known evangelists and is popular across Africa, announced plans to travel to South Africa to visit the families of the deceased. Officials suspect the foundations were not suitable for extra floors to be added to the building Emergency workers allege they were prevented from participating in the rescue, only gaining full access to the site on Sunday afternoon – accusations denied by Pastor Joshua’s Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN). One of the South African men said:“I understand that some families are afraid to take on someone who purports to be God’s messenger and I don’t blame them but I will do this” Thanduxolo Doro and Mpho Molebatsi waited at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo airport for days after the collapse for news of their sisters, who had been visiting SCOAN. Both families had last heard from their relatives hours before the collapse, which happened at about 13:50 local time (12.50 GMT) on Friday 12 September. “It is not that the building collapsed, rather what was done after the collapse – we didn’t get any news from the church,”Mr Doro, whose sister Vathiswa Madikiza died, told the BBC. “When I contacted them they wouldn’t tell me anything. We saw reports that emergency workers were denied access initially, access that could have saved lives. The actions of the church after the incident are very telling,”he said Posted by Haliwudon September 26, 2014. Tags: Haliwud, tb joshua Categories: World news

Panic As Two Ebola Victims ‘Resurrect’ During Burial Procession

Panic has taken over a community in Liberia when two Ebola victims suddenly rose back to death. Panic is spreading in an African village that Ebola patients are rising from the dead. This is a file picture of an Ebola victim The villagers who believed two female victims of the killer disease have been resurrected and are now walking among the living were shocked at the incident when it happened. Mirror reports that the victims, who are both females in their 40s and 60s, died of the deadly virus in separate communities in Nimba County, Liberia. READ ALSO: EBOLA: Heartbreaking Photos From Liberia But the pair were said to have risen from their deaths and are now walking among the living, causing panic and fear among locals. The two victims late Dorris Quoi of Hope Village Community and Ma Kebeh, in her late 60s, were about to be taken for burial when they resurrected from the dead, according to the New Dawn Nimba County, a local newspaper. Ma Kebeh was reported to be indoors for two nights without food and medication before her alleged death. However, it would be worthy to note that Nimba County has recently reported unusual news of Ebola cases, including one about a native doctor from the county, who claimed that he could cure infected victims, dying of the virus himself last week. The local tabloid however made it known that since the Ebola outbreak in Nimba County, this is the first incident of dead victims resurrecting. The Ebola outbreak has already killed around 2,800 people in five West African countries this year while an estimated 5,800 people have been infected with the virus, which has no known cure. America’s respected Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has predicted there could be up to 1.4million cases of deadly Ebola by the end of January. The CDC, which successfully treated two US doctors infected with the disease, released the worrying report based on assumptions that cases have been dramatically under reported. The Centre’s scientists believe there may be as many as 21,000 reported and unreported cases in just Liberia and Sierra Leone alone by the end of this month. The World Health Organisation has already warned the number of people infected with the Ebola could reach 20,000 by the beginning of November if steps to contain the outbreak are not accelerated.

Why TB Joshua Should Be Arrested And Tried

A group of Nigerian intellectuals based in the United States of America are calling for the arrest and trial of Prophet T.B. Joshua of the Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN). This is in reaction to the tragic collapse of a 6-storey guest house belonging to the Synagogue churchin which 115 people were said to have lost their lives. This was disclosed in a press statement jointly signed by Olufemi Taiwo of Cornell University, Ithaca; Ebenezer Obadare of University of Kansas, Lawrence; Akin Adesokan of Indiana University, Bloomington; Wale Adebanwi, of the University of California, Davis; and Tejumola Olaniyan of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, PM News reports. READ ALSO: Journalist Reveals Why He Leaked T.B. Joshua ‘Bribery’ Audio The University dons are of the opinion that Joshua deliberately tried to cover up the truth on what caused the collapse in his church premises and therefore deserves to be tried. They faulted the church’s initial attempt to deny emergency services and the media access into the church premises when the incident occurred.

No More Ebola Virus In Nigeria, Health Minister Declares

The Minister of Health in Nigeria, Onyebuchi Chukwu has revealed that Nigeria is completely free of active Ebola cases, adding that all contacts of the deadly disease have been released from surveillance. Chukwu made this disclosure on Tuesday, 23 September, 2014, at the United Nations General Assembly holding in New York, USA. The UN meeting, comprising of all 193 members of the UN met in New York to among other things discuss on ways to halt the spread of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) ravaging West African countries. This is more than two months since the index case, the late Patrick Sawyer, a Liberian-America imported the deadly virus into Lagos while on a trip for a meeting of the Economic Commission of West African States (ECOWAS) in Calabar on 23 July. According to the minister: “Presently, there is no single case of Ebola virus disease in Nigeria – none. No cases are under treatment, no suspected cases. There are no contacts in Lagos that are still under surveillance, having completed a minimum of 21 days of observation. The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu “None of them are showing any symptoms. Monday (22 September 2014) will mark the end of their 21 days of observation and the plan is to get them discharged from surveillance yesterday (Tuesday 23 September 2014). Nigeria will be as clean as any other country as far as Ebola virus disease is concerned.”

Prophet TB Joshua Is Not A True Man Of God – Ghanaian Spiritualist, Kweku Bonsam

Popular Ghanaian witch doctor, Nana Kwaku Bonsam who recently said he would report Prophet TB Joshua to the Pope so that he will call him to order has accused him of killing the late President of Ghana, Professor John Evans Atta Mills. Kwaku Bonsam said TB Joshua is not a true man of God while saying he is “acting like Christ”, that his prophecies are misleading, uses “tricks” by having his editors fabricate deliverance session, confessions then posting it to the Internet and demonstrating on his TV station. TB Joshua who described in 2012 his well-publicized relationship with the late Ghanaian leader, John Atta Mills as a ‘revelation from God’ was said to have prophesized the death of Atta Mills. Journalist Who Turned Down Prophet T. B. Joshua’s Bribe Reveals More!

Yesterday, news broke about a certain journalist, Nicholas Ibekwe, who refused to collect a N50,000 bribe that Prophet T. B Joshua offered him amongst 14 other Nigerian journalists who happily collected the brown envelopes. Prophet TB Joshua Nicholas Ibekwe The brown envelop was said to be made available by the controversial prophet for the journalists to use in ‘fueling their cars…this Nicholas Ibekwe found appalling considering the fact that the pastor after his speech was reported to have asked the journalists to know what to write when they get to their different media houses. Their is however a new development to the inflow of the revelations from the journalist. The Lagos State University English language graduate cum journalist has however taken to one of the social media site, Twitter this morning to reveal more of what he saw during his few minutes meeting with Pastor T. B. Joshua. He made it known that aside from Nigerian journalists, foreign journalists were also offered bribes which they turned down blatantly as against what the Nigerian journalists did. Nicholas also made it known that since he released the audio yesterday, his family members have been receiving calls to warn him to stop making public all he encountered at the meeting. Nicholas who is billed to have an interview with a media house in South Africa later today according to him, made it known that he will not stop until the truth about everything is revealed. Read some of his tweets below: They’re already calling friends and family to warn me to stop. Let me make myself clear. I won’t unless they STOP me! — Nicholas Ibekwe (@nicholasibekwe) September 20, 2014 I’ve just been told that foreign journalists were also offered money but they politely turned it down. — Nicholas Ibekwe (@nicholasibekwe) September 20, 2014 Nicholas’ tweets has however garnered reactions ranging from praise to condemnation for revealing what transpired between himself and other Nigerian journalists with Prophet T. B. Joshua. Here are some of the reactions below: @nicholasibekweexposes the truth about a certain “prophet” TB Joshua and he’s attacked for exposing it. #Nigeriansare interesting……. — Ndumiso Shezi-Parker (@NSPNdumiso) September 21, 2014 A young journalist @nicholasibekwedecides to go clean and expose the rot in a religious body. Yet, some attack him for saying the truth. — Ahmed Magem (@ahmagem) September 21, 2014 @nicholasibekweam sooo proud of u nick.. Only a few are still like u..yet a lot of dese idiots would question GEJ credibility.. — Boss lady chizi (@chizzie_brown) September 21, 2014 I don’t get it. @nicholasibekwewhat’s wrong with Fashola not wanting to see or talk to the reporters. Ur rants are nt makn any sense at all — chinny (@zandriana) September 21, 2014 It would be recalled that last Friday, September 12, the six-storey guest house inside the church’s premises collapsedas additional floors were being added to the original two-storey building. After the collapse, the National Emergency management Agency, NEMA, had revealed that the Synagogue of Nations Church stopped them from doing their job.

Synagogue Collapse: T.B Joshua Facing Law Suit

Samuel Ilori, a Lagos-based legal practitioner has said that he will sue Temitope Joshua (popularly known as T.B Joshua), the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, accusing him of been responsible for the death of several people after a building collapsed in his church’s premises. Mr. Ilori on Tuesday said that his group, Vote for Service Initiative, which stands for government accountability and human rights, will pursue the case if the Lagos state government keep lagging behind in prosecuting the preacher. Surviving South Africans to be transported home after the horrors of collapsed SCOAN guest house He stated that he started the campaign that T.B Joshua should be brought to book, that justice must be done over the case. He also added that “Because this is not the first time we will have a collapsed building, and this is not the first time that the Lagos State government has confiscated such land and made sure that the developer or the owner of the land face the law. “What we are asking for is that government should do the needful. I believe they have concluded their investigation, as far as evacuation is concerned evacuation has been done. Everything that needed to be done, I believe has been done,” As we earlier reported, a five-storey building inside the church’s premises in Ikotun, Lagos, collapsed on September 12 as three additional floors were being added to the original two-storey structure. Eighty-six dead bodies have so far been recovered from the rubble and over a 100 people have been rescued alive, according to the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA. A South African minister, Jeff Radebe, said that 115 people, including 84 South Africans, died in the incident. Both the Lagos State government and the Nigerian Institute of Building have stated that the church did not get approval before embarking on construction on the collapsed building. The Lagos State government says it is still investigating the cause of the incident. But Mr. Ilori accused the government of giving Mr. Joshua a preferential treatment. “Section 74(1) of the Physical Planning and Development Law of Lagos State states inter alia that at any time there is a collapsed building within the state. Wherever it is discovered that there is a negligence on the part of the owner or the developer, that land will be confiscated and whoever is at the other side of the law will be prosecuted,” Mr. Ilori said. “That’s exactly what we are asking for. That the Lagos State government headed by Governor Fashola should do the needful. That by now the land of Synagogue supposed to have been confiscated, especially that land where the building collapsed. “But up till now they are still dilly dallying, up till now they are still trying to do it in a palliative way to see that they give the man a soft landing. All those shenanigan visits, I am not interested. “How long are they going to investigate? What are they investigating? The question is, what are they investigating? They are investigating the cacophony of lies that the man put up, the first time he said it was Boko Haram, the second time he said it was one plane hovering about… “They (the church) said they have an approval, the government said ‘bring the approval,’ they said the approval has collapsed with the building. That is nonsense. They are just giving the man enough time to buy time so that they can die this matter and that is the reason why we are not going to allow him.” Mr. Ilori said that he would take the campaign to prosecute Mr. Joshua to the social media to create a lot of awareness.“By Thursday, by his grace, my group is going to write to the Lagos State government intimating him of those things that he had done concerning criminal negligence,” Mr. Ilori said. “In 2008, Reverend King was convicted for putting fire on one of his devotees, the lady died. Reverend King right now is waiting for the guillotine. The same thing happened to Arowolo, the man they claimed killed his wife, the Lagos State government prosecuted the man and he was sentenced to death by hanging. The man is still waiting for the hangman’s noose. “Why is it that it comes to T.B Joshua and the government does not know what to do about it? “We called it criminal negligence because if you have a foundation for a building that’s supposed to collect two-storey building and you take it from two-storey building to six-storey building, that is suicidal. That means you know exactly that the foundation cannot contain that building that you are building on it and you take it for granted that whatever happens, let it happen. And that’s exactly what has happened here.

Nigeria Is Now Free From The Deadly Disease (Ebola) – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathanhas declared that Nigeria is free of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease which has claimed seven lives in the past weeks. Jonathan addressing State House journalists in Abuja yesterday said nobody has Ebola in the country at the moment. He said all those who hitherto had the symptoms of the virus had recovered. Jonathan, however, noted that the possibility of recording the Ebola in Nigeria again could not be ruled out as long as it continued to ravage Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. He said the likelihood that someone like Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer who imported the virus to Nigeria in July could also not be foreclosed, according to report from Daily Trust “Presently, there is no case of Ebola in Nigeria. Nobody in Nigeria has Ebola now. All the people that had the symptoms of Ebola have recovered. Out of 19, we lost seven and the others have recovered. Yes, there are few people we are observing. “That’s not to say we may not record Ebola again as long as Ebola is still in the West Coast, it is there in Guinea Conakry, it is there in Liberia, it is there in Sierra Leone. The likelihood that the character like the Late Sawyer can come in one way or the other is also open”, he said. He said the government had so properly protected the nation’s airports that “if Sawyer were to arrive Nigeria now, no Nigerian would have contracted Ebola because of the level of preparation…We are sure that even if one mad Sawyer comes again, nobody will contract Ebola. Thanking all Nigerians for managing the virus, Jonathan affirmed that the entire country had come together in fighting the epidemic. “This is one thing that the whole country came together, worked together. There was no issue of politics, there was no issue of religion, and there was no issue of ethnicity. In fact, that was why we were able to contain it. If Nigerians did not agree, we wouldn’t have succeeded”, he said. Jonathan also thanked all the governors, especially those of Lagos and Rivers States, for working with the federal government and setting up machinery to manage Ebola. On the September 22 schools’ resumption date, Jonathan pleaded with the Nigerian Union of Teachers to shelve plans to embark on strike, asking them to commend and work with his government. He said the NUT had no reason to threaten strike over Ebola as the decision to reopen schools on September 22 was taken at a meeting with state governors. According to him, if the government closes institutions because of Ebola, foreign envoys in Nigeria would send dispatches to their countries about it and that could aggravate the stigmatization against Nigerians going there.

Boko Haram Attacked Our Building ─ T.B. Joshua

The founder and General overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T. B. Joshua has said Boko Haram may be responsible for the collapse of a six-storey building in the church premises. Joshua, who told members of his church on Sunday not to be afraid, said the attack was targeted at him and not at them. The prophet made it clear that the collapse of the six-storey building at around 11.45am on Friday which led to the death of no fewer than 16 persons was a Boko Haram attack. Joshua buttressed his claim by showing to his congregation on the Emmanuel TV the chronology of events shortly before and after the accident as captured by the church’s CCTV. He said, “I received a phone call immediately I got here, just 10 minutes later when I was in the church, that there was a jet hovering over the mountain where I had just left. They said it was hovering at a close range. Before I knew it, I received another phone call that the same jet was now at the church hovering over the building, passing it four times at a very close range before the building collapsed.” Joshua read to the church a letter which he said was addressed to him by a Boko Haram member, confessing how he had attempted to plant a bomb inside the church. Joshua said his church was being attacked to scare away members. “This environment at Ikotun Egbe, we have never witnessed an accident of a building collapse. This is a very stable terrain. I have been here for the past 30 years. I am pregnant with words, but we have left the security agencies to do their job. Let us believe and educate our people and be alive.” Assuring his congregation that God would bring the perpetrators of the attack to book, Joshua said that the decision of the insurgents to focus on his church might be the end of the Boko Haram’s activities in the country. He said,“I know you will ask why the church? It is because of the spiritual blessings that God has bestowed upon us. A big head wears a large hat. “Don’t forget about the Ebola issue too, it was God that rescued the church. Probably they would have dropped an Ebola patient inside the church, so that they would said, ‘there is an Ebola patient in the church, don’t go there.’ “They are trying to scare you from coming to church. Don’t be scared, you are not the target, I’m the target. I know my time has not yet come. I have not yet finished my job. “I want to assure you that our God will get back at them and you will know when he gets back to them. May be this would be the end of the whole thing.” Meanwhile, the death toll had officially risen to 44, while 130 people were said to have been rescued alive. The National Emergency Management Agency on Sunday said that 44 dead bodies had been recovered, while 130 people trapped in the collapsed Synagogue building had so far been rescued. The Public Relations Officer of NEMA, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed this via a text message to our correspondents. Farinloye, however, told the News Agency of Nigeria that 80 per cent of people rescued from the collapse building were women. He said that two female children, aged four and eight years, were among those rescued from the building. Posted by Infocenteron September 16, 2014. Categories: Naija News

Ebola: Anambra, Edo, Ogun, Rivers, ready for Sept 22 resumption—Education Commissionerson September 16, 2014 at 3:26 am in Ebola Outbreak, News

By Amaka Abayomi, Dayo Adesulu, Daud Olatunji, Ikenna Asomba & Tare Youdeowei FOLLOWING the insistence by the Federal Government, that the September 22 resumption date for primary and secondary schools in the country would not be extended, several State Ministries of Education have expressed readiness for schools to resume, stressing that adequate measures have been put in place to contain any possible outbreak of the deadly Ebola Virus Diseases, EVD, in schools. Those that gave assurances of their preparedness were the commissioners for education of Anambra, Edo, Ogun, Rivers, as well as the special adviser to Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State on Information and Strategy. Speaking to Vanguard, the Edo State Commissioner for Higher Education (Secondary, Tertiary and Technical), Barr. Washington Osifo, who said FG’s directive for schools to resume September 22, has been wholeheartedly accepted by the State government, indicated, “Yes, the September 22 resumption is not a fluke. It is already on ground. Our judgement was based on expert information given us by those saddled with the responsibility of certifying that schools are safe to resume. We organised training for teachers on September 11, 12 and 13, across the three senatorial districts. This does not only include public school teachers, but also private school teachers and at no cost to them. Although, since the outbreak of the EVD, Edo State has been certified 100 per cent Ebola free, but the reason for the trainings we have embarked upon is not just to contain Ebola, but other contagious diseases that go with improper hygiene common among children.” Similarly, the Anambra State Commissioner for Education, Prof. Kate Omenugha, affirmed the State’s readiness to tackle the scourge even before the directive by the Minister of Education on September 5. Omenugha said: “Even before the meeting with the Minister of Education, in Abuja, on September 5, Anambra has been proactive in preventing the EVD from gaining entrance into the State. At the moment, we have trained 1, 044 Head teachers of Primary Schools, 21 Education Secretaries, as well as 256 Secondary School principals. Today (Monday), my ministry is meeting with the Ministry of Health to further train about 5, 000 teachers this weekend. So far, so good, having met severally with relevant stakeholders in the state, to clearly define what they should do ahead of and on resumption, we are indeed ready for the September 22, resumption.” According to the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Segun Odubela, “We are ready to resume on September 22 as proposed by the Federal Government. The training of teachers on how to curb the spread of Ebola, would commence on Tuesday and end on Thursday, at four centres in the state.”

No Nigerian Coach Is Good Enough To Handle The Super Eagles – Babayaro

Former Nigeria international Emmanuel Babayaro has declared that no Nigerian coach is good enough to handle the Super Eagles. Babayaro added that he was never convinced from the onset that Stephen Keshi was the right man for the Eagles job. “I don’t think Keshi is the man for the job. I never thought any Nigerian coach is the right person for the Eagles. And note this, it has nothing to do with their ability as coaches. As coaches they may be terrific, but I have always maintained, an average Nigerian myself inclusive, we are very sentimental people and football and sentiments they don’t go together. “That is why we have this situation where Keshi never invites the best hands, for one sentimental reason or the other. On a good day, somebody else without sentiments would have invited every other person.” “We have to bring the players. They will create competition which at the end of the day makes every other player better.” Criticisms have mounted over Keshi’s non-inclusion of Villarreal striker Ikechukwu Uche, saying recently that the player has said he should be begged before he would return to play for Nigeria. The Best Non-Prescription Eyelash Enhancer?

Eyelash enhancers are the latest beauty trend these days, and cosmetic companies everywhere are launching products that promise to give women longer, fuller, and darker lashes without the fuss of mascara or false lashes. But, with all these options, it’s hard to know what really works and what doesn’t. Luckily, there are reputable beauty sites out there that have put many of these eyelash enhancers to the test. The results for this year’s top-performing eyelash enhancers are in … with SmartLash coming in with a solid 5-star rating on DermStore.com, the #1 online destination for skin care and beauty. What Is Eyelash Enhancement? If you aren’t yet aware of this increasingly popular method of achieving longer lashes, eyelash enhancers are formulas that are topically applied to the base of your lower and upper lashes. They can even be used on sparse, thin eyebrows. Is It Safe? While prescription eyelash enhancers are often formulated with prostaglandin, a hormone that can cause side effects such as darkened irises (potentially irreversible) and blurred vision, more and more companies are developing safer, non-prescription alternatives that deliver impressive results. Most non-prescription formulas are hormone and paraben-free. Instead, they’re formulated with polypeptides, amino acids, and conditioning ingredients to help rejuvenate lashes and strengthen them against breakage. So, you still get longer, fuller, darker-looking lashes and shapelier brows, without the negative side effects. How Soon Can You See Results? In some cases, users have reported seeing results in as little as twenty-eight days, while others may see results in about 56 days. SmartLash, for instance, has published its clinical results, which show that 93 percent of participants saw an increase in the appearance of lash length and fullness after 28 days, while 83 percent stated their eyelashes appeared thicker after 28 days.

Beware Of Fake Ebola Test Kits, NAFDAC Warns

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians not to fall prey to fake test kits for Ebola disease. Director-General of NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii, who raised alarm over circulation of the fake test kits and sanitizers in the market, cautioned Nigerians to be careful. He gave the warning while briefing the media on his return, yesterday, from an emergency meeting summoned by World Health Organisation (WHO), for health authorities of member nations in Geneva, to find lasting solution to Ebola virus and some vaccines clinically being evaluated with very high prospect of combating the disease. “Nigerians must be vigilant because some unscrupulous elements have started exploiting the Ebola virus scare to market counterfeit test kits and sanitary products,” Orhii said. He however, expressed optimism that there was a great promise that some drugs and vaccines could be found soon to be able to contain the virus. “We have some Nigerian remedies that we are looking at very closely and after investigation, we hope that they will be able to help check the Ebola virus. So Nigerians do not need to panic,” he said. He reiterated that Ebola virus was not a death sentence in Nigeria as, according to him, the Federal Government, through the efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health, had managed the situation effectively and halted the rampaging spread of the disease. “Nigerians are full of commendation and appreciation to President Good luck Jonathan and the Minister of Health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, for effectively containing the Ebola virus through prompt deployment of adequate funds, material resources and personnel to strategic places,” he said. He also that Nigerians were proud of the current efforts of government, saying many countries were learning from the methods and strategies adopted by Nigeria to combat the Ebola menace. He, therefore, appealed to Nigerians in Diaspora to feel free to visit home as the threat of the deadly disease had been effectively contained by the government.

350 Nigerian Students Trapped In War-Ravaged Regions of Ukraine

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed Thursday that at least 350 Nigerian students are currently trapped in Ukraine’s crisis-torn regions of Donetsk and Lugansk. In efforts to secure and assure the safety of the students, the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science has requested all Nigerian students undergoing courses in higher education institutions in the two danger zones should “urgently forward their names, passport numbers, name of their institutions, courses, year of study and alternative universities within Ukraine to either the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, East and Central European affairs division, Abuja or Nigerian embassy in Kiev." Protesters at Ukraine revolution tandalov.com “Such required details would enable the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science to transfer the students to universities in safer central and western regions of the country to continue their studies,” it said, adding that the directive became necessary following heavy fighting between the Ukrainian military and separatists in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, and with the 2014/2015 academic session having commenced on 1st September 2014. The ministry also estimated that 2,000 Nigerian students were studying in various higher education institutions of the two regions as of the last academic year, out of which about 1,650 had returned either to Nigeria or had moved to safer places at the end of the just-closed academic session. “The remaining 350 Nigerian students were trapped in the two troubled regions of Ukraine,” it said, urging the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and parents and guardians whose children and wards were studying in the two crisis regions of Ukraine to take urgent steps to get the information across to them for “appropriate action”.

The Nigerian authorities officially confirmed that the military had taken over Bama, recently captured by Boko Haram insurgents.

This comes after controversial reports have been provided on the current status of the Borno State town. Yesterday it was made known that following a week of violent fights over Bama, military finally prevailed, forcing insurgents out of the area. It was allegedly claimed by several sources. However the next day one Abu Zinnira, believed to be spokesman of the sect, said Bama was under control of Boko Haram. According to Channels TV, today the Federal Government through the coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mr Mike Omeri, confirmed the recapture of Bama and also assured Nigerians that the military had enhanced counter-terrorism operations in towns Boko Haram allegedly challenged soldiers. Additionally, Omeri urged Nigerians to restrain from buying pre-registered SIM cards and used phones, as it might pose security challenges to the nation. The dreaded terrorist sect is believed to have employed new tactics. This became evident after Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau had released the new video last month, in which he declared the captured Gwoza town part of Islamic Caliphate. Soon the insurgents seized several towns in the North-East in what is believed to be the attempt to expand the caliphate. The rapid advancement forced thousands of people and flee their homes. However the Nigerian military reportedly continued fight and deployed country’s warplanes to launch heavy airstrikes and return Bama. Some areas are said to be still controlled by Boko Haram.

The actress who publicly expressed her love for Popular Nigerian hip-hop singer, D’banj, hence, her reason for picking up ‘Eja Nla’ as a stage/pseudo name, also made it known that she cannot quit her acting career for her relationship if need arises as her man should be willing to consider her passion.
The screen diva made it known that Sex before marriage makes the two people involved to know their weaknesses and work on it before getting into the lifelong commitment called marriage. Here is the excerpt from the interview below:
”I think it’s an individual thing. Once you are an adult and you think you are ready, go for it. Personally, I think s*x before marriage is good. Because it will make you know your partner well before going into marriage. So if there is anything you are not comfortable with, you have an ample time to correct it before actually going into the lifetime contract of marriage. Doing it before marriage also reduces adultery and fornication. It is also a good way of studying your partner before you get committed to him or her.”
It would be recalled that just recently, Marriage and Sex Therapist, Funmi Akingbade, in a recent interview made it known that Nigerian men are never patient when it comes to sex, as they see foreplay and other activities before intercourse as a waste of time.

T.B. Joshua Prophecies About Plane Hijacking By "Militants"

Famous Nigerian pastor and the general overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), T.B. Joshua, came up with another warning message during the Sunday service, September 7. Pastor T.B. Joshua Speaking with his congregation, Joshua urged people to pray for Pope Francis of the Catholic Church and prophesied the upcoming plane hijacking by “militants”, Nigerian Eye reports. The prophet with admirers not only among ordinary people, but also among politicians and celebrities, in Nigeria and worldwide, said he saw “a very big religious leader”, the one he characterized as a “father” figure respected by millions in different parts of the world. Joshua continued that he had seen an alarming “vision” about him. “I have been praying for him… They should pray for him,” Joshua proceeded, although not specifying which area people should direct their prayer towards… The clergyman I am talking about is the Pope.” Pope Francis The Nigerian prophet also claimed he had seen the “Breaking News” about the hijacker, the militant capturing the plane: “They will attempt to enter a plane. You will hear ‘Breaking News’ of a hijacker inside the plane that carried the plane from its original direction to another direction. We should pray so that it will not just end like that and we learn that there’s a crash.” The last statement probably referred to the tragedy, which occurred in the United Sates on September 11, 2001, when Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked planes and crashed them into the towers of World Trade Center in New York. “This is another big attempt they want to do.” It would be recalled that last week Joshua prophesied a plane crash “in the unstable region near Russia and Ukraine”and urged people to pray for the US President Barack Obama, because the cleric saw him “being rushed to the hospital”. As for Obama, he said that the country leader would recover. He also spoke about a militant attack against a top official in Southern Africa, and in relation to this called for prayer for Kenya.

Within a short period of time Boko Haram captured several strategic towns, including Gwoza, Bama and several others. Inspired by their success, the militants are believed to move further in an attempt to seize Maiduguri. It would be noted that after capturing Gwoza Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau claimed Islamic Caliphate in the area. Now the terrorists’ aim is apparently to expand the caliphate. On situation in Bama, Vanguard also reports referring to Reuters interview with Musa Sumail, a human rights activist in Maiduguri who said: “Even today, we can see so many people leaving … the buses are going out plenty now.” READ ALSO: Soldiers Evacuate Families From Barracks As Boko Haram Drops Fliers About Plan To Seize Maiduguri Meanwhile the Nigerian Defence Headquarters insisted they would do everything possible to defend the territorial integrity of the country. Ebola Solution: WHO Recommends To Use Survivors' Blood

The World Health Organization (WHO) revealed how the use of Ebola survivors’ blood could help the infected patients to recover. While there is no approved drug for the deadly tropical virus which has already claimed around 2,000 lives in West Africa, hundreds of people still have managed to win the battle with Ebola. Health experts say that such survivors develop antibodies in their blood and thus immunity from further infection, Premium Times reports. The UN health organization urged the affected countries not to wait until the drug becomes available but start using the blood of patients who recover from the Ebola in treating other patients. A health worker dressed in personal protective equipment at Ebola centre Speaking yesterday on the issue of Ebola epidemic, which has definitely spun out of control, the WHO said there was no data on the effectiveness of such therapy, however studies on the 1995 outbreak in Congo showed that 7 out of 8 people survived after being given this therapy. Marie Paule Kieny, WHO top officials, said, as reported by BBC: “We agreed that whole blood therapies may be used to treat Ebola virus and all efforts must be invested to help infected countries to use them. There is a real opportunity that a blood-derived product can be used now and this can be very effective in terms of treating patients. There are also many people now who have survived and are doing well. They can provide blood to treat the other people who are sick.” READ ALSO: Ebola: U.S. Commends Nigeria According to the latest update, at least 2,105 have died from Ebola. Timaya Asks For God’s Forgiveness For ‘Ukwu’ Song

In what I describe as a strange reaction, the ‘Dem Mama’ record boss — Timaya , is begging God for forgiveness for singing ‘ Ukwu’. Timaya, the ‘Ukwu’ crooner has stated that everything he does when it comes to music is entirely to get himself a living and nothing more. The outspoken singer said he tries his best to give his fans the kind of music they want to listen to and watch, adding that his desire to do something his fans want is the reason his songs were banned on television and radio stations. He claims that his plan was never to do secular music for a long time because of his upbringing at the Living Gospel Mission as a chorister but he changed to the person he is right now because of what people want. The singer said he in fact started with Gospel Music, then he went into singing about envies, which he got rebuked for anyways. So he decided to try something new and that’s why he got rid of his dreadlocks. Timaya went further to say that what people don’t know is that he never for once disconnected with God, despite the fact that he now does secular songs. He added that he did the hit ‘Ukwu’ song just to make a living for himself and that he goes back to God in prayers to beg for forgiveness. However, his statement did not go down well with some fans, who think he misleads people just to make money. What do you think?

Stopping Ebola Won't Be Easy - President Obama

US President Barack Obama has said stopping the deadly Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) won’t be easy but it can be achieved. In a video, which appeared on the White House website and was aimed especially at West African countries struggling with the outbreak of the Ebola virus, particularly residents of Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Nigeria, Obama took out time to explain facts of the Ebola outbreak. The president said: “Stopping this disease won’t be easy. But we know how to do it. “You are not alone, together we can treat those who are sick with respect and dignity. “We can save lives and our countries can work together to improve public health so this kind of outbreak doesn’t happen again.” Obama warned Africans not to touch the dead bodies of people infected with Ebola, referring to the widely practiced tradition of touching and kissing the body before burial, as the virus is passed through bodily fluids of an infected person. “You can respect your traditions and honor your loved ones without risking the lives of the living,” Obama said. When the Ebola hit Nigeria, the government had asked America for the experimental drug, ZMapp, but Obama had refused the request, saying, the Ebola experimental drug won’t be sent to Africa because “it’s too early”. Nigeria thought they had almost stopped the spread of Ebola in the country with only one case left until, on Thursday, August 28, the first recorded death from Ebola was confirmed in Port Harcourt, a doctor who secretly treated an ECOWAS diplomat who had contact with Patrick Sawyer (the index case). Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, on Monday, September 1, announced that 271 people suspected to have contracted the Ebola virus have been placed under surveillance. Recently, the director of the Centers for Disease Control, Tom Frieden, said the Ebola epidemic currently ravaging West Africa will worsen as it gets better. The Ebola outbreak in West Africa has killed more than 1,550 people in West Africa and scientists worldwide are working hard at finding a vaccine for the cure of Ebola

Nigerian Prophet T.B Joshua, the general overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, has revealed that Nigerian politicians will begin to be targets of Boko Haram sect. Prophet TB Joshua Prophet TB Joshua gave this warning message on Sunday, 31st of August, 2014. They are just looking for an avenue that will cause crisis and conflict in the region. When it happens, it will cause political crisis.” RELATED: TB Joshua’s ‘Anointing Sticker’ Saved Me – Survivor Of Boko Haram Attack He immediately called for prayers against the impending attack of the political bigshot, stating that they only want to use it to cause political crisis. “There would also be a plane crash in the unstable region near Russia and Ukraine.
