Good News: 57 Chibok Girls To Study In US

The girls are part of the lucky few who managed to escape from the Boko Haram terrorists who kidnapped them… It’s a story of light at the end of the tunnel for some of the girls who were abducted by the Boko Haram sect on April 14, 2014. 57 of the Chibok schoolgirlswho managed to escape captivity will continue their studies in a United States school. According to reports, The Centre for Promotion of Ethics, Values and National Integration (CENPEVNI) in collaboration with other groups secured the admission for the girls. This was disclosed byDr. Mercy Sokomba,the executive director of the group, and project coordinator, Rehabilitation and Reintegration Outreach Mission (RROM). She said: “The reality of this particular offer is if the girls are ready for another form of separation from their parents. However, we have initiated discussions with some leadership of the Chibok community and at some point will meet with them and the parents for consent,” Over 200 girlswere kidnapped from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno and most of them are still being held by Boko Haram
